Oxford Cancer Biomarkers (OCB) aims to advance its current digital pathology technique (ColoProg) by accessing further colorectal cancer data sets to provide additional validation data on existing indications. Furthermore it is OCB’s intention to expand the application of the ColoProg across other indications, specifically prostate and breast cancer. It is hoped that the PathLake framework will allow OCB to access training and validation data sets for these indications in order to assess the clinical utility of the ColoProg technique on other indications.
Additionally, OCB intends to develop novel image interpretation algorithms to assess other aspects of tumour microenvironment, one particular area of interest is assessing the level of tumour infiltration by various immune cell types. It is hoped that PathLake will allow OCB to access the discovery data sets that will facilitate this work.
