Patient and public involvement in research (also known as PPI) is when patients and members of the public are actively involved in research projects and organisations; working alongside researchers to plan, manage and carry out research and report research findings.
By involving patients, carers and members of the public, researchers can benefit from their unique views, experiences and insights and ensure they are taken into account throughout the research study. By working with our researchers, patients and the public can improve research and make a difference to healthcare in the future.
